Why the #MeToo movement is passé in France

Description

It has been two years since the emergence of the #MeToo movement. To mark the second anniversary, we talk to Dr Jessica Lichy from IDRAC Campus de Lyon who's been researching as to why #MeToo or #Balancetonporc, as it was called here in France, failed to resonate as much with the French compared to elsewhere. Also we report on its impact in India where in rural areas, the notions of consent and sexual harassment remain alien concepts.
