Audi AICON at 2019 IAA

Description

With the four-door design vision Audi Aicon, the brand with the four rings is presenting a autonomous Audi of the future – with no steering wheel or pedals. As a design concept, the four-door 2+2 boldly leaps ahead to show the exterior and interior design of the next decades. The technology demonstrator combines innovations relating to the drivetrain, suspension, digitalization and sustainability in a visionary manner. The Aicon, too, is designed for purely electric operation and should be able to cover distances between 700 and 800 kilometers (435.0 - 497.1 mi) on a single charge.

  • Audi AI:TRAIL World Premiere at 2019 IAA

At the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi is presenting the final, fourth member of its visionary concept car family, so far consisting of the Aicon, PB18, and AI:ME. Say hello to the new Audi AI:Trail Quattro Concept, which – as weird as it sounds – combines serious off-road capabilities with autonomous functions. The study takes the shape of a futuristic, buggy-style four-door vehicle with a fully electric powertrain, incorporating four electric motors for a driveshaft-free all-wheel drive. The show car is 13.5-feet (4.15 meters) long, 7.05-feet (2.15 meters) wide, and rides on massive 22-inch wheels with 33.5-inch off-road tires. The ground clearance is 13.4 inches (34 centimeters) and the vehicle should be able to ford through water more than half a meter (1.6 ft) deep.

  • Audi e-tron 55 quattro at 2019 IAA

Built on a modified version of the MLB platform found under a range of other Audi SUVs, Audi e-tron 55 quattro offers up one powertrain configuration to start with: a 168hp front motor and a 188bhp rear motor mated to a 95kWh battery. The total system output stands at 302bhp, though this peaks at 402bhp for eight seconds with an overboost function. It’s able to accept 150kW DC fast charging through its CCS connector, which means that charging from flat to 80 per cent full takes half an hour. While the powertrain is a revolution for Audi, the styling deliberately isn’t. The brand is targeting core buyers with the e-tron, so while the Jaguar I-Pace looks like little else on the road, the e-tron could be mistaken for a Q5 - just one that’s slightly longer and lower. It's the same story on the inside. Like many of the latest Audis, the dash is dominated by three displays - two touchscreens on the dash, another ahead of the driver. These gain EV-specific menus; the customisable Virtual Cockpit digital dials show the relationship between motor load and brake regeneration in real time, while the navigation system features the location of public charging points. If a top up is needed it can plot routes accordingly. Some might prefer the minimalist Model X look, but the Audi feels significantly more sturdy and expensive in terms of perceived quality.

  • Audi Stand at 2019 IAA

Audi brought two world debuts and an array of show firsts to Frankfurt in September 2019. The brand with the four rings used the International Motor Show (IAA) to showcase a stunning collection of new products, both in the e-mobility area and from its range of conventionally powered models. The Press Conference on September 10 featured the unveiling of the Audi AI:TRAIL concept car, the vision of a future electrically powered off-roader. Another model making its first appearance was the new Audi RS 7 Sportback, with which Audi Sport GmbH is expanding its portfolio of high-performance automobiles. In the shape of the e-tron FE06, Audi’s Formula E racing car could be admired for the first time in its new technical configuration and with its new design.

  • Audi RS 7 World Premiere at 2019 IAA

The new Audi RS7 Sportback marks the model's second generation and is more unique than ever before. At the 2019 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Audi Sport GmbH presented the RS7 Sportback as a wide-bodied five-seater for the first time, also showcasing the improved performance and efficiency delivered by a mild hybrid system. The Audi RS7 Sportback will be arriving at dealerships in Germany and other European countries in the end of 2019.The new Audi RS7 Sportback sits low to the ground. The flared wheel arches emphasize the relentlessly sporty nature of the high-performance model from Audi Sport. The extreme width is no optical illusion - at 1,950 millimeters (76.8 inches) at the front fenders, the tape measure has to stretch an extra 40 millimeters (1.6 inches) or so over the Audi A7 Sportback. The new RS7 Sportback shares the coupé-like lines of the base model's body, but only in four areas: the hood, the roof, the front doors and the tailgate. The RS-specific exterior design gives the 5,009-millimeter (197.2-inch) grand tourer a character all of its own.

  • Audi e-tron Sportback Premiere at 2019 IAA

Audi is putting on quite a show these days at IAA in Frankfurt by presenting a slew of debuts from the A1 Citycarver and Q3 Sportback to the hotly anticipated RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback. Another upcoming product made a brief appearance during Audi’s press conference as the E-Tron Sportback was brought on stage. Since the electric SUV’s debut was not scheduled for the Frankfurt show, Audi decided to turn off the lights to conceal the vehicle’s design. The tease follows the unveiling of a near-production prototype back in March at the Geneva Motor Show, so it’s safe to say Audi is taking its sweet time with the release of the E-Tron Sportback. As per an announcement made at the ongoing 2019 IAA, the wraps will finally come off on November 19 during the Los Angeles Auto Show.
