Dozens of women staged a protest in front of Chile's presidential palace on Monday ahead of International Women's Day.
Women in Chile's capital gather to sing a song against gender violence. The song, which has gone viral, originated in the country in the midst of the ongoing social crisis.
Dressed in the colours of the Colombian flag, crowds of cheerleaders perform in the capital Bogota in support of ongoing anti-government protests, and, according to an organiser, "to show that through sport and peace we can also protest." At least 26 people have died since protests began on April 28, originally against a now abandoned tax reform.
The 2011 Istanbul Convention, signed by 45 countries and the European Union, requires governments to adopt legislation prosecuting domestic violence and similar abuse.
