Bonne nouvelle : le cancer de la prostate pourrait bientôt être éliminé ! Un nouveau traitement révolutionnaire éliminerait en effet les tumeurs en quelques jours. Il s'agirait de la forme de traitement la plus rapide existante à ce jour. Dans cet essai, 850 participants ont reçu des doses élevées de radiothérapie stéréotaxique. Suite à ce traitement, les tumeurs ont été éliminées en moins d'une semaine. À l'inverse, une radiothérapie standard prend 2 mois. Si les essais en cours se montrent concluants, tous les malades pourront bénéficier de ce traitement. Le DR Douglas Brand, codirigeant de l'étude, a déclaré que “cette pratique pourrait tout changer”.   • Regular Aspirin Can Lower Risk Of Disease

    People who take aspirin at least three times per week are more likely to survive bladder cancer. Regular aspirin use also was associated with a reduced risk of death from breast cancer. However, taking aspirin had no effect on a person's risk of getting several forms of the disease. These diseases include bladder, breast, gastrointestinal or pancreatic cancers.     A new analysis by the American Cancer Society reveals death from cancer in the United States fell 31% between 1991 and 2018. Nevertheless, the organization also estimates that this year, nearly 1.9 million people will be diagnosed with cancer and more than 600,000 will die from it. According to UPI, cancer remains the second-leading cause of death in the United States. Significant gains have been made in four of the deadliest and most common cancer, namely lung, breast, colorectal, and prostate. Lung cancer is still the most common cause of cancer death nationally. However, the data showed death rates for the disease fell 2.4% annually between 2009 and 2013 and 5% annually between 2014 and 2018.

  • Coffee Reduces Prostate Cancer Risk

    11 (UPI) -- Drinking several cups of coffee daily appears to lower risk for developing prostate cancer, according to an analysis published Monday by BMJ Open. Advertisement "This study suggests that increased coffee consumption may be associated with a reduced risk of prostate cancer," researchers from Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University wrote. Among the studies, 15 compared the risk for prostate cancer among those who consumed high amounts of coffee to those who drank less, while 13 reported on the risk associated with drinking additional daily cup, the researchers said. A high level of coffee consumption reduced prostate cancer risk by 9% compared to low-level consumption, with each additional daily cup further lowering risk by 1%, the data showed.
