Miss Brazil calls for end to gender violence during Miss Universe contest

Atlanta (US), Dec 6 (EFE/EPA) .- Miss Brazil Júlia Horta on Friday called for an end to gender violence while walking in her national costume during the Miss Universe 2019 preliminary round in Atlanta, Georgia.Horta was not the only beauty queen who used the Miss Universe 2019 catwalk to advocate social causes. Miss Laos Vichitta Phonevilay also dazzled the crowd in her elephant costume with a sign that read 'stop fire save amazon'.The final stages of the competition will take place on Dec 8 in Atlanta.
