Their art is now part of the current candidacy of pottery to Intangible Heritage of Humanity.FOOTAGE OF POTTERY WORKSHOP IN TALAVERA DE LA REINA TOLEDO (SPAIN).SOUNDBITES OF PILAR CAMPILLEJO, SPOKESWOMAN OF TIERRAS DE CERAMICA:“One of the strengths of this candidacy is the internationalization of this craftwork, which joins two continents, two countries and four cities with a craftwork which in Mexico started in the 16th century when Talaveran arrived in Puebla de los Angeles, Nuevo Mexico, and introduced their work. They brought with them their ordinance book that explained what Talaveran craftwork had to be, how this pottery had to be done. ““It’s important to consider that when Talaveran influence arrived, in both (countries) the way to create pottery is the same, (in Mexico) what changes is decoration. They were influenced by indigenous people from the place they arrived to, of course, the workers were indigenous. And they also were influenced by the Manila galleon.”
