Iranian President Hopes British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Can Improve Relations

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has high hopes for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Rouhani said he hopes Johnson’s “familiarity” with the Islamic Republic will help improve relations. He hopes Johnson will “get rid of existing obstacles in the growth and expansion of relations between us.” On the official Iranian presidency website, Rouhani congratulated Johnson on his new role.

Johnson is the front-runner to be Britain’s next prime minister and Trump believes he will work out Brexit. “I spoke to him yesterday. I think he’s going to do a great job.
