Historical Celebration of Modern Bugatti Hyper Sports Cars

The Monterey Car Week is heading towards the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the end of a stunning week for car collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. Following Bugatti's world premiere of the Centodieci for Friday's highlight at The Quail - A Motorsports Gathering, the new Bugatti now joins a unique exhibit at Le Domaine Bugatti. In the year of its 110th anniversary, the French hyper sports car manufacturer celebrates the models of modern company history. Not only is Bugatti represented on the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance with beautiful pre-war models from private ownership, but also, as it was the case last year, Stephan Winkelmann and Bugatti Design Director Achim Anscheidt will be using their expertise to reinforce the jury to evaluate vehicles in 22 categories for originality, functionality and elegance. While wandering the sacred turf from one historic piece of automotive art to the next, Le Domaine Bugatti is a testimony to the fact that Bugatti continues to produce the most extraordinary automobiles in the world, even in the modern era.

  • Introducing the World's Fastest Police Car

In Dubai, the police force has just been presented with a certificate by Guinness World Records for having the world's fastest police car in service -- a Bugatti Veyron -- just one of its 14-strong fleet of supercars. A fleet of luxury supercars may sound outlandish, but it fits in perfectly with Dubai, a city where a Bentley or Rolls Royce needs to be wrapped in gold in order to have anyone look twice. The flagship of the fleet is the Veyron, with a staggering top speed of 253 mph. Its engine produces 1,000 horsepower, sending it from 0 to 60mph in just two and a half seconds.

  • Lotus Wants You To Test Drive The Evora 400, But Only If You're As Agile As It Is

It's not often that a company trying to sell a new car—particularly a fairly expensive, limited-production sports car—implies that potential buyers may not be up to driving it. Yet Lotus may just bruise a few fan egos with an unorthodox attempt to promote the new Evora 400. The Lotus Evora 400 Agility Test is based on reaction-time tests used in fighter-pilot training programs, Lotus says. The goal is to move a yellow square around the board while avoiding several moving squares for as long as possible. Unveiled at the recent 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Evora 400 is a refreshed version of Lotus' more upscale mid-engined sports car. A supercharged 3.5-liter V-6 produces 400 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque, enough for a 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph.
