This month marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, an event that sparked a technological innovation revolution. To this day, we continue to benefit from space-race advancements, such as the Zero Gravity seats available in the INFINITI QX50 and Q60.
From the technology that made the Apollo 11 moon landing possible 50 years ago to the computerization of objects we take for granted every day, there have been large strides made in technological development. For example, the QX50’s ProPILOT Assist technology is capable of making thousands of calculations every second, taking in data from sensors all around the car and determining what to do with that information.
"INFINITI adds two more awards to the shelf as the QX60 and QX80 were both named winners in the 2018 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, an industry benchmark for measuring how satisfied owners are with their new vehicles. The 2018 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are based on results from a nationwide survey of more than 58,000 new car and light truck owners. Based solely on owner input, Vehicle Satisfaction Awards objectively measure owner satisfaction with 40 separate attributes that range from seating comfort and interior quality to driving performance. Evidenced by the continually increasing sales of trucks in the U.S., trucks – pickups, sport utility vehicles and minivans – are considered much more satisfying than cars, according to the survey. SUVs, such as the INFINITI QX60 and QX80, are the most satisfying among the truck categories."
"The all-new Infiniti QX50, arguably the most compelling Infiniti to date, offers world-first technologies, standout design, an enhanced interior space and an entirely new platform - providing a new level of versatility, efficiency and performance in luxury mid-size crossovers. The bold exterior styling remains true to that of the QX50 Concept and QX Sport Inspiration vehicles, bringing a fresh interpretation of Infiniti's distinctive ""Powerful Elegance"" design language to the crossover segment. The unrivaled interior space, artistic application of high quality materials, and advanced craftsmanship make the cabin as welcoming and comfortable as it is flexible. The new VC-Turbo engine, the world's first production-ready variable compression ratio engine, delivers driving pleasure and efficiency in equal measure, while Infiniti Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and the new ProPILOT Assist technologies react discreetly to certain driving situations, supporting the driver with a range of empowering driver assist features."
"As with the exterior, the design of the Infiniti QX50 interior deliberately articulates a sense of advanced human artistry. There is also a strong focus on space and functionality, with innovative packaging creating ideal roominess and flexibility. Utilizing the advantages of the QX50's all-new platform, efficient packaging maximizes the amount of interior space. The body is designed to accommodate both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive drivetrains without impacting cabin space. The enhanced interior space is made more flexible with its sliding rear bench. The cargo area is 39.0 inches deep with the rear bench all the way back - increasing to 44.9 inches with the seats moved forward. The trunk's volume is 31.1 cubic feet, with the rear seats in their rear-most position, expanding to 64.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down."
