Christian Brueckner, the German man suspected of abducting missing British toddler Madeleine McCann, appears in public for the first time since being named in her case, arriving at a court in Braunschweig for the start of his trial on unrelated sex crime charges. The United States says that Sudan's rival forces have both committed war crimes in their brutal conflict, accusing the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.
