  • Russia, Turkey 'Reach Understanding' On Syria

    According to CNN, Russian and Turkish officials have reached an "understanding" on coordination of military activities in Syria following a high-level meeting in Moscow. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that "An understanding was reached over how the military representatives of Russia and Turkey on the ground will continue to coordinate their steps under the new conditions." Senior Russian and Turkish discussed the rapidly evolving situation on the ground in Syria after US President Donald Trump made the surprise announcement to withdraw US troops from Syria.

  • Turkey Disapproves Of US Setting Up 'Observation Posts'

    Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar is uneasy about U.S. plans relating to the Syrian-Turkey border. According to Reuters, the U.S. plans to set up “observation posts” in Syria along parts of its border with Turkey. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis recently said they would help focus on clearing the final Islamic State militant strongholds. Yet Akar thinks they would have a negative impact on perceptions of the U.S. in Turkey.

  • Turkey Announces Military Ops In Syria

    President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday, Turkey will carry out new military operations along its borders after its two previous offensives into Syria. He announced his manifesto for next month's snap elections. Turkey is now carrying out an offensive into northern Syria's Afrin region against the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia. Ankara considers the militia a terrorist organization linked to Kurdish militants waging an insurgency on Turkish soil. The Afrin campaign is Turkey's second cross-border operation into Syria during the seven-year-old civil war. The first was dubbed "Euphrates Shield." It targeted Islamic State and Kurdish fighters further east than Afrin, and was completed in early 2017.

  • Turkey Warns Syrian Army Against Helping Kurdish YPG In Afrin

    On Monday, Turkey warned that it would confront Syrian government forces if they entered Syria’s northwestern Afrin region to help the Kurdish YPG militia repel a Turkish offensive. Turkey began its Afrin operation with allied Syrian rebels last month against the YPG, which Ankara regards as a threat to its border. Monday’s comments by Turkey’s president came after a Kurdish official said a deal had been struck for the Syrian army to go into Afrin soon to help against the month-old assault.

    La règle de base n'a pas changé, il faut rester chez soi. Cependant, Edouard Philippe a apporté un certain nombre de précisions sur les sorties dérogatoires. L'activité physique par exemple, ne peut se faire que dans un rayon d'un kilomètre autour de son domicile et pas plus d'une heure par jour. Quant aux promenades, seules les personnes vivant au même domicile peuvent le faire, et la distance et la durée sont les mêmes que pour le sport. De nouvelles dérogations sont-elles à prévoir ?
