The only EXCEPTIONS to this prohibition are showing photos, making factual announcements, or permissible three-minute individual clips that can be used every half-hour until the embargo ends. In the United States, these clips MUST include tune-in messaging to ABC (whether spoken or graphically-shown).Notwithstanding the foregoing, a series of still images and/or footage may not be used so as to create the illusion of a live Red Carpet program.Post-embargo period (After the conclusion of the main show) –Restrictions on previously taped Red Carpet footage is lifted.INTERNATIONAL BROADCAST RESTRICTIONS FOR RED CARPETInternational Embargo period (3:30pm PT) –(In the Americas): No video footage, whether live or taped, can be broadcast in any medium, including the Internet, until Tuesday 2/11 in the country or territory airing the Oscars telecast.(Outside the Americas): No video footage, whether live or taped, can be broadcast in any medium, including the Internet, until Wednesday 2/12 in the country or territory airing the Oscars telecast.The only EXCEPTIONS to this prohibition are showing photos, making factual announcements, or permissible three-minute individual clips that can be used every half-hour until the embargo ends in that country or territory. For digital/streaming it can be a 3 minute package that is updated no more than every 30 minutes (such 3 minutes includes any use of Oscar show clips as permitted in the instructions explained below).Notwithstanding the foregoing, a series of still images and/or footage may not be used so as to create the illusion of a live Red Carpet program.Post-embargo period (see above for date in specific country or territory) –3 minute per half-hour limit restriction is lifted, provided that such footage is still only used for news reporting and not for any dedicated “Oscar Specials” whether televised or on the Internet.-------Additional restriction: Use of screen grabs as still images following the broadcast is permissible only with the express written consent of the Academy.
