Santa Cruz, Oct 14 (EFE).- The indigenous people of the Amazon and eastern Bolivia who marched for more than a month to the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz on asked two United Nations delegates Thursday to help them set up a meeting with representatives of the four powers of the State.The demand was raised during a meeting with the head of the Technical Mission of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Antonio Menéndez De Zubillaga, and the Human Rights officer María Gomes Werneck. Bolivians across the country marked the annual Festia de las Natitas on Wednesday, carrying real skulls of the deceased and decking the skulls out in sunglasses, hats, and sometimes even placing lit cigarettes in their mouths. The Festival of the Natitas, which means 'the little pug-nosed ones,' derives from an Aymara tradition which existed prior to the Spanish colonisation of Bolivia and combines indigenous beliefs with Catholicism.
