The protesters, led by the organization On Farms, which represents the rights of farm workers and rural women, are challenging Minister Thoko Didiza's latest land reform strategy, which they say excludes the Western Cape and particularly marginalized communities. South Africa's expropriation bill was published this week and will now go before parliament, allowing for the first time the expropriation of property without compensation.
