Phil Spector is the music producer who created the "Wall of Sound" production technique and was convicted of murder. He died Saturday at age 81. California state prison officials said Spector died of natural causes at a hospital. Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003 in Los Angeles.
Johnny Nash, best known for his 1972 hit "I Can See Clearly Now," has died. The singer passed away Tuesday morning according to his son, John Nash. The American reggae and pop music singer-songwriter died from natural causes at his home in Houston. Nash's "I Can See Clearly Now" hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 4, 1972, and held the top spot for four weeks. According to CNN, Johnny Nash began his career as a pop singer in the 1950's. Nash was 80 years old at the time of his death.
Phnom Penh, Sep 2 (EFE/EPA).- Kaing Guek Eav, or Duch, died Wednesday aged 77 in Cambodia, where in 2010 he became the first person convicted of crimes during the Khmer Rouge rule tried in an international court.Duch, the head of the Pol Pot regime's S-21 security prison, passed away at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh at 12:52 p.m. (17.52 GMT Tuesday) while serving a life sentence for crimes against humanity.
