Tegucigalpa, Jul 12 jul (EFE).- The poverty rate in Honduras could increase from 70 to 75 percent by the end of 2021 due to the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the high cost of living and the lack of job opportunities, an economist told Efe Monday. "Poverty could increase five percentage points. That means three out of every four Hondurans would be in a condition of poverty by the end of 2021," said Ismael Zepeda, an economist at the non-governmental organization Social Forum for the External Debt of Honduras (FOSDEH).
