The CUPRA Born is the brand’s first 100% electric vehicle and the next stage of the unconventional challenger brand’s development.It integrates the most advanced powertrain technology: the pure electric system is available with a choice of either 150PS (110kW) or 204PS (150kW) electric engines that deliver energy to the rear wheels.With the addition of an e-Boost package, maximum output can reach up to 170kW (231PS), with battery packs of 58kWh and 77kW, to deliver a range of up to 420km (58kWh) or up to 548km (77kWh).When equipped with the e-Boost package and with the 58kWh battery, the CUPRA Born goes from 0 to 50km/h in only 2.6s and the 0-100km/h in just 6.6 seconds.
The CUPRA Formentor is about to take to the streets of the world. But some have already had the privilege of driving it including the CUPRA development team led by SEAT executive Vice-president for R&D Dr. Werner Tietz, along with CUPRA Technical Officer Marta Almuni and CUPRA driver Jordi Gené. The following are their impressions at the wheel of the brand’s first uniquely designed and developed model.
"The high-quality cabin provides a sense of modernity and sportiness with a unique take on the feel of the CUPRA brand.Once inside high-quality materials, with brushed dark aluminium and copper accents make the cabin feel modern and contemporary, while cocooning the occupants.As the driver takes hold of the new CUPRA steering wheel, another indicator of the spirit of the CUPRA Formentor, housing the engine start and CUPRA mode select button, they will instantly understand they are taking control of a different type of vehicle.And, unlike other models in the range, the Digital Cockpit data is focused on the vehicle’s electrified powertrain, from the electric-only range remaining to the mode of power deliver.The centrepiece of the interior is the 12” infotainment touchscreen which provides the functionality and connectivity to all occupants and reduces button count. The simplicity and elegance of the interior is achieved in part thanks to the inclusion of the shift-by-wire DSG transmission technology, which helps declutter the interior, creating greater space."

The CUPRA Formentor continues to increase its mechanical offer. Thus, the latest generation 1.5 TSI petrol block with 150 hp (110 kW) and 250 Nm of torque is available, with a six-speed manual gearbox, or a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic. This access version is offered with a very extensive list of standard equipment, among which it is worth highlighting the integrated technology in terms of connectivity and security. Its starting price, without discounts applied, is 31,670 euros for the manual version, and 33,870 euros with DSG change.This SUV coupe is the first vehicle designed and developed from scratch by the CUPRA brand, and is manufactured at the Martorell plant. It combines the brand's own DNA, with a captivating design out of the ordinary, a spacious and welcoming interior for the driver and passengers, and cutting-edge technologies not only for the sake of safety and connectivity, but also in terms of comfort. and dynamism, a section in which it also stands out for offering impressive road performance, more typical of a sports compact than an SUV.
