A street monkey performance, known as 'Topeng Monyet' or 'Monkey Mask' is a popular form of cheap entertainment in Indonesia, especially on the island of Java. During the show, a trainer usually issues orders by pulling the chain tied around the primate's neck, forcing it to perform tricks such as wearing a mask or riding a toy motorcycle. The Indonesian government banned the Topeng Monyet in the capital Jakarta in 2013 to improve public order and ending animal abuse, although the shows are still popular in several other parts of the country. Bangkok, Sep 22 (EFE/EPA).- Thailand's plans to reopen the country by Oct. 1, 2021 were pushed to Oct. 15, 2021, as five provinces, including Bangkok, still have less than 70 percent of its residents vaccinated.The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said that reopening may be postponed further to the beginning of Novermber until all provinces have at least a 70 percent vaccination rate. Tangerang, Sep 6 (EFE/EPA).- Schools in the Indonesian city of Tangerang reopened Monday with limited number of students after the government began easing COVID-19 restrictions. The Indonesian government officially announced the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) last week, from Aug. 31 to Sep. 6, and lowered the status of a number of regions from PPKM level 4 to PPKM level 3.Indonesia has recorded over 4.1 COVID-19 cases with more than 130,000 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
