Thousands ask for an urgent solution to Alitalia

Description

Rome, Apr 14 (EFE) .- (Camera: Álvaro Padilla) Some 5,000 protesters in Rome asked on Wednesday for an urgent solution to the paralysis that Alitalia airline is going through, in bankruptcy since May 2017 and whose financial crisis has delayed payment of wages and threatens bankruptcy.FOOTAGE OF THE PROTEST IN FRONT OF THE MINISTRY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.SOUNDBITES OF THE NATIONAL SECRETARY OF THE FILT CGIL UNION FABRIZIO CUSCITO.TRANSLATION"Air transport is the sector that is going through the biggest crisis at the moment and because there is no answer for air transport. All Italian companies, all airlines are bankrupt or have gone bankrupt, there are thousands of workers who run the risk of losing their job and they have no aid to make ends meet".Translation 2: "Alitalia in air transport is so far behind compared to the rest of European countries that it is not even possible to work on the proposals. Unfortunately, we are in a very different situation from France and I wish we had the problems that France has but this is not the case because France has received about 15,000 million aid for its airlines, something that has not happened in Italy ".Translation 3: "We will continue to protest until we have answers for Alitalia for Air Italy and the rest of the companies in the sector."
