New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has great news for the state of New York. Cuomo said the state has found additional doses in its vaccine vials from Moderna. The vials, which were thought to hold 10 doses, could hold up to 11. Cuomo's announcement follows similar news about the Pfizer vaccine. Business Insider reports pharmacists found many five-dose vials held six or seven doses. The bonus vaccines will allow for more people to be vaccinated than previously thought.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo thinks one vaccine could receive FDA emergency authorization. Pfizer and BioNTech's vaccine is the one he was alluding to on Thursday. An independent advisory panel will vote on whether to recommend an emergency use authorization. Several top health officials have said they expect the vaccine to get authorized on Thursday. However, at least one FDA official has said the process could take up to a week after the panel's vote.
Biden told reporters on Friday he will not make any COVID-19 vaccine mandatory. "I'll do everything in my power as president of the United States to encourage people to do the right thing," said the president-elect. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is due to assemble a panel of experts on December 10. This panel is being formed to decide whether to approve Pfizer and BioNTech's vaccine. If approved, it could start rolling out in 24 hours, reports Business Insider.
"Of course we're going to make money, it's New York," says Governor Andrew Cuomo as he gets in his car after ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The NYSE is resuming physical floor trading for the first time since late March. IMAGES
