The Trump Organization's finances are to be under even closer scrutiny by the Manhattan District Attorney's office. CNN reports the investigation will include the family's 212-acre 'Seven Springs' compound in Westchester County. It's a significant widening of an investigation that began more than a year ago, and also draws closer to President Donald Trump's son Eric Trump. He's the Trump Organization's executive vice president and was directly involved in discussions about the property now under investigation. The criminal investigation poses a significant threat to Trump, his business, and his family as he leaves the White House next week.
A federal judge has ruled 114,000 homeless students in New York City are to have their day in court. Business Insider reports a judge has allowed a class-action lawsuit to advance to expedite the roll-out of WiFi to homeless shelters across the city. The suit was filed when homeless students were unable to access the internet in homeless shelters during periods of remote learning this year. Business Insider reports the city provided students with iPads with unlimited cellular data, but many have had trouble getting proper cell service. Gates has donated over $100 million toward coronavirus vaccine research. The US administered its first doses of the vaccine to healthcare workers in New York City on Monday, but widespread vaccination will take time — and Gates said it's important for people to follow guidelines in the meantime to control the virus' spread.
In a bid to overturn the presidential election, President Donald Trump has set his legal team upon courtrooms across the country. The team, including former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, has consistently made claims of widespread voter fraud--without any verifiable evidence. Now, former New Jersey governor and Trump ally Chris Christie says the President's legal team is 'a national embarrassment.' On ABC's 'This Week,' Christie, a Republican, said Trump's attorneys have had ample opportunities to present solid evidence of any voting irregularities.
