The new 500X Sport builds on its classic Italian design with a youthful, sporty appearance that offers even more customized features on top of an advanced, fuel-efficient turbocharged engine. Harold Klemm, Product Manager, highlights some of the great features of the 500X Sport.
Finally, the new line-up is completed by the Panda Cross, the top-of-the-range trim level with an off-road character and appearance and the best equipment for those who want an all-inclusive car. It features stylish new 15" wheel rims, double red tow hook below the bumper grille, chrome paintwork for skid plates, roof rack and side shock absorber bands with the wording ‘cross’ in relief in black.The wide range of equipment as standard includes rear parking sensors, automatic air conditioning, leather steering wheel, new black techno-leather door panels, new 'woody’ dashboard in recycled materials and new 7” touchscreen radio complete with DAB digital radio, set up for Apple CarPlay and compatible with Android Auto and smartphone bracket. Other new features: two-tone seats made with sustainability in mind, the center panel of which are spun with a special eco-friendly fabric with at least 37” recycled plastic from the land. The seats are embellished with brown side stitching in fabric, eco-leather details and specific “cross” logo.
Fiat has confirmed pricing and specifications for upcoming mild-hybrid variants of its 500 and Panda superminis.Under the bonnet of both cars is a new powertrain that links a three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine with a 12-volt electric motor, with the latter working to improve efficiency by allowing the petrol unit to remain switched off for longer. Powering both cars is a new powertrain, combining a three-cylinder engine and 12-volt electric motor (Fiat)This new combination produces 69bhp and 92Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Fiat claims the 500 equipped with this new unit can achieve 53.3mpg on the WLTP Combined cycle while emitting 88g/km of CO2, while the Panda is said to be capable of 49.6mpg and 89g/km of CO2 respectively.Though visually near-identical to regular versions of the 500 and Panda, each of these electrified models will be distinguished by a ‘Hybrid’ logo at the rear as well as a ‘H’ pattern made from a design of two drew drops in the centre console.
