Campagnolo Ekar 1x gravel-specific 13-speed Shed tech episode #4

Description

In episode #4 of his Shed Tech series, Cyclist's Tech Editor Sam Challis runs through the highlights of Campagnolo's Ekar 1x 13-speed gravel specific groupset. Ekar is the latest offering from the Italian groupset master and serves as its first foray away from the tarmac since its dip into mountain bike groupsets back in the late eighties. Campagnolo claims Ekar is the lightest 1x gravel groupset at 2,385g and at around £1500 is pretty competitive price-wise too. However Ekar's true headline-grabbing feature is its 13-speed cassette that includes both 9- and 10-tooth sprockets. They have necessitated the introduction of a new freehub standard, called N3W, which Campagnolo will be rolling out as standard for all its future groupsets and wheelsets so 13-speed may well be coming to a Campagnolo road groupset near you soon. • NEW Pinarello Dogma F! | Shed Tech episode #7

Cyclist Tech Editor Sam Challis is back in his shed with a first look at the latest update to Pinarello’s iconic Dogma race bike... but without the bike (there is just one in the UK and it is in Cyclist’s photography studio). The newest revision sees Pinarello drop the numerical classification the Dogma series has used for the last decade or so. The latest bike is simply the Dogma F. According to Pinarello the new Dogma F is a whole heap lighter and more aero to boot, with the disc version troubling the UCI’s 6.8kg weight limit. Watch the video to find out how Pinarello has done it and whether this means that the Ineos Grenadiers will be making the switch.
