New Abarth 595 Competizione Driving Video

Description

The brand with the Scorpion badge is introducing the new Abarth 595 range, which embodies the evolution of their most iconic model. Advanced engineering and care for details in a model capable of boldly expressing the two personalities of the brand - performance and style. The four versions of the new 595 range are compact, light, agile and importantly all unparalleled in terms of customisation. The 595 is a successful range that today presents new strengths sure to capture the trademark nuances of the Abarth character.Hatchback or convertible, the new 595 range features five versions (595, 595 Pista, 595 Turismo, 595 Competizione and 695 Rivale) with power levels from 145 to 180 HP, all Euro 6D-TEMP compliant, to satisfy all customer needs. From the technical and performance point of view, peculiarly on the 595 Competizione and the 595 Pista, the main new feature is the new Record Monza Attivo exhaust, now standard on both versions and today equipped with an active valve controlled by a Sport button. Pressing the Sport button opens the exhaust valve and the engine rumble becomes deeper and bolder. The driver can choose a gentleman driver engine sound or a tougher, sportier - and more traditionally Abarth - roar. While the 595 Competizione is somewhat more radical and designed for performance and no-compromise sports car fans, the 595 Turismo hints to the style and comfort typical of Italian GTs. There is plenty of focus on details, with premium leather interiors and Urban Pack that comes with light sensor, rain sensor and parking sensors.

  • New Abarth 695 Esseesse Driving Video

In its creation, the team of Abarth engineers and designers drew inspiration from the 1964 model, the “Cinquino” tuned up as a 695 Esseesse with its displacement raised to 690 cc and 38 hp so it could achieve 140 km/h, designed for everyday use and as a sporty city car, but aimed at those who were seeking the best performance on everyday roads, and produced in only 1,000 units. In addition, the “mean little Scorpion” stood out for its distinctive badges with the monogram ""SS"" in capital letters on the bonnet and ""esseesse"", all in lower case on the dashboard. And it was immediately a success for fans of Italian sportiness. In the design of the new Abarth 695 Esseesse, the goal was to improve performance further in terms of acceleration and handling. The research therefore drove at a reduction in weight, a different balance and attention to the aerodynamics. As well as marking out the new 695 Esseesse from an aesthetic point of view, the new doubly hunched aluminum bonnet reduces the weight by 25% compared to a normal bonnet, and combined with the adoption of the Akrapovič exhaust and other targeted interventions, has reduced the car’s overall weight by 10 kg compared to an Abarth 595 Competizione. This distinctive feature is joined in the rear by the “Spoiler ad Assetto Variabile”. As well as marking out its style, all these elements have improved performance, for example: on the quarter-mile (400 m), the 695 Esseesse manages to reach the finish line 1/10th of a second faster than the Competizione version.

  • Abarth 595 esseesse Driving Video

The amazing Abarth 595 esseesse is back, breathing new life into a name deeply rooted in the brand's history, looking right back to its origins, when the Sixties tuning kits made Karl Abarth's fortune as the inventor of the kits designed to boost the performance of mass production cars.1964 saw the debut of the first Abarth 595 esseesse, tuned with the aid of a Solex 34 PBIC carburettor and a special intake manifold, cast in a single piece of light alloy with the valve cover, boosting its power to 32 HP. On the outside, the car was recognisable by the rubber ties securing the bonnet instead of the usual lock, replaced by the enamelled Abarth logo. Inside, the "mean little Scorpion" displayed distinctive badges, with the "SS" monogram in capital letters on the bonnet and boot, and "esseesse" in full, in lowercase letters, on the dashboard. And it was an immediate success with Italian sports car enthusiasts.A success repeated in 2009 by the original "esseesse" tuning kit for the new Abarth 500, which appeared in 2008. The tuning increased the engine's power to 160 HP and modified the suspension setup, with Eibach lowering springs, alongside a higher-powered braking system and other clearly racing-inspired contents. What's more, to guarantee compliance with the most demanding control and safety standards, the "esseesse" tuning kit was only installed by the official network of Abarth tuners, who still received it in the famous wooden crate, just like the famous Sixties original.
