Hyundai announced the introduction of its 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV with a freshened design motif, advanced front and rear lighting signatures, new hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive and extensive new driver safety and convenience features. The hybrid propulsion system is the first application of its kind in the Hyundai SUV line-up. In addition, a new, upscale Calligraphy trim will be offered for the first time. Santa Fe internal combustion models will be produced at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and will arrive at dealerships by the end of the year, while the Santa Fe Hybrid model will be produced in Ulsan, Korea and will arrive in the first quarter 2021.
2021 Santa Fe now offers three new and improved powertrain options. The standard powertrain is a Smartstream 2.5-liter direct-injected (DI) and multi-point injected (MPI) four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing the former 2.4-liter engine. This standard four-cylinder engine produces an estimated 191 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and an estimated 182 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm for effortless driving in a wide variety of conditions. The powertrain also features Idle, Stop and Go (ISG) capability to maximize efficiency in various heavy traffic conditions. The new 2.5-liter engine fuel economy is targeted to increase approximately eight percent over the 2020 powertrain from these improvements.

The striking front end design stands out through its distinctive wide grille shape, embracing the main headlamp units. The accentuated 3D pattern of the grille mesh emphasizes its robust character. Unique, eye-catching T-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) create an unmistakable signature graphic and also reveal the turn signal as dual function.On the lower bumper, the robust skid plate embraces the lower air intake, forming a clamp shape and visually supporting the main grille architecture. To complete the powerful presence of the front end, the corners are dominated by vertically-oriented aerodynamic inlets that improve air flow efficiency and strengthen the upright and robust impression.Wider wheel arch claddings and new alloy wheel designs, including a 20-inch option, reinforce the strong character of the new Santa Fe. At the rear, the new taillight design with horizontally-stretched graphics visually reinforces the width of the body. A red reflector band has been added to connect the taillights. To achieve harmony and refinement, the designers shaped the rear bumper fascia with focus on achieving a calmer, more sophisticated rear end design. This underlines the wide stance and strength of the vehicle. Through its exterior design, the new Santa Fe demonstrates the maturity and confidence which reflect the premium qualities of Hyundai.

Hyundai revealed the all-new 2024 Santa Fe to North American media at AutoMobility LA with an ‘Open for More’ development concept centered around its new, wider liftgate opening and spacious interior. Santa Fe’s wide liftgate seamlessly connects its interior with the outside environment, expanding passengers’ everyday experiences. The liftgate area, once exclusively a storage space, now expands its use to a terrace-like function to effortlessly enjoy the outdoor environment surrounding the vehicle. Hyundai Motor Manufacturing, LLC (HMMA) has designated $190 million dollars of new investment for tooling and equipment upgrades to prepare for production of the all-new fifth-generation Santa Fe. The 2024 Santa Fe 2.5T model goes on sale in March 2024, with the Hybrid model on sale in spring.Santa Fe enhances its city-friendly, adventure-ready appeal with a generous, terrace-like living space created by its new, longer wheelbase and larger liftgate opening. The longer wheelbase also allows the new model to offer standard third-row seating comfort without compromising overall roominess.
