The FBI is considering adding those who attacked the US Capitol last week to the federal no-fly list. When a person checks in for a flight, his or her reservation information is checked against the TSA's Secure Flight database. The procedure includes determining whether the traveler is on the no-fly list or selectee list. On Tuesday, congressional leaders called to keep rioters off planes after they said they remained mostly in the dark from the agencies that oversee the list. Much of how the lists work, including what qualifies a person for inclusion and how many people are listed, is classified as sensitive security information. The no-fly list began in the wake of the 9/11 attacks when the FBI provided the FAA a list of 125 people who should not be allowed on planes.
The recent storming of the US Capitol seems to be hitting President Donald Trump not only politically, but financially as well. CNN reports a growing number of businesses suddenly want very little to do with Trump after he incited a mob of his supporters to attack the Capitol. Twitter and Facebook banned Trump indefinitely, and Stripe is no longer processing credit card payments for his campaign. Shopify stopped operating online stores for the Trump Organization and the campaign and the PGA is pulling a major golf tournament from a Trump resort. It's also unclear which, if any, banks will want to loan money to the Trump Organization.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) lambasted President Donald Trump before Congress on Wednesday after the riots at the US Capitol. When it comes to accountability, the president needs to understand that his actions were the problem, not the solution. South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham Business Insider reports Graham said he was 'embarrassed and disgusted' by Wednesday's breach, saying the 'domestic terrorists' need to be prosecuted. Thursday, he slammed Trump's legal team for pushing false claims about the election after President-elect Joe Biden was declared the winner. Nevertheless, Business Insider reports Graham said he doesn't believe invoking the 25th Amendment is 'appropriate at this point.'
