Latest attempt to dislodge tanker blocking trade via Suez Canal fails

Description

Cairo, Mar 28 (EFE), (Camera: Khaled Elfiqi).- A giant container ship on Sunday remained stuck in the Suez Canal, one of the world’s busiest trade routes, after authorities made an overnight attempt to dislodge it using the high tide. The Ever Given, the Panama-flagged ship, ran aground in the canal when the crew lost visibility amid strong winds and a dust storm on Tuesday.“Unfortunately, the tidal conditions didn't help re-floating Ever Given,” Logistics company Leth Agencies said on Twitter early Sunday. The company added that the Suez Canal Authority would again try to nudge the 400-meter long, 220,000-ton vessel using tugboats.FOOTAGE OF THE GIANT CONTAINER EVER GIVEN.

Proof of this is that, when it collided with the bank of the canal, it entered a depth of 12 meters because it was entering with a high speed that caused the bow of the ship to sink. After all, the ship had a lot of loads”.2.- “We are building another new 10 km canal from kilometer 122 to kilometer 132. This is to increase the number of ships within the canal and reduce the crossing time. We are also going to expand the southern section by 40 meters from kilometer 132 to kilometer 162 and increase the depth of the canal from 66 feet to 72 ”.
