CNN projects that voters in New Jersey and South Dakota have voted to legalize recreational marijuana. Poll results have not yet been determined in Arizona, Montana, and Mississippi for their legalization efforts. Pre-election polling showed that the measure had support in Arizona, Montana, and New Jersey. 33 states and Washington DC have already fully legalized medical marijuana. 11 states and Washington DC have also legalized recreational marijuana usage.
Voters in Montana will be considering MT Initiative 190 on their ballot this election year. According to Business Insider, MT 190 is an initiative to legalize the possession and use of marijuana for adults 21 and over. Initiative Number 118 would amend Montana's constitution to allow the government to set a legal age for marijuana consumption. Both propositions must pass for marijuana usage to become legal for adults 21 and older in the state. The results of the vote are not in yet. State polling locations close at 8:00 pm MST.
