Sri Lanka steps up COVID-19 testing as country faces new wave of infections

Colombo, May 3 (EFE/EPA).- The Sri Lankan government has stepped up Covid-19 testings as the country is facing a new wave of infections. Sri Lankan government on Sunday restricted the number of air passengers arriving in the country for two week and also closed schools, universities, movie theaters and have canceled all other mass gathering events across the country in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.   • Covid-19 testing facility in Colombo

    Colombo, Aug 31(EFE/EPA).- Sri Lankan Health workers wearing protective gear performed Tuesday COVID -19 swab tests at a temporary test facility in Colombo. The Sri Lankan government has extended an islandwide lockdown till September 6 2021 as a preventive measure against the spread of the coronavirus.
