The world’s longest sea crossing, which connects Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, has now opened to the public. The bridge spans over 55 km (34 miles) and includes 23 km of bridges, 6.7 km of tunnels, and two artificial islands. The new construction cuts the time of road travel between Hong Kong and Zhuhai from four hours to just 40 minutes. However, drivers can only access the bridge after receiving a special permit from the authorities.

Pilgrims gather in Lisbon for a huge open-air Mass with Pope Francis for World Youth Day. Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims cheer Pope Francis as the pontiff arrives at a Lisbon park for an homage to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ at a global jamboree. It marks the pope's second mass event with participants at this year's World Youth Day, which is actually a six-day extravaganza and happens to be the largest Catholic gathering in the world.
