Former NATO air base to house France's second largest solar energy park

Description

The second largest photovoltaic power plant in France, installed in the Meuse region of France on a former NATO airbase, will begin supplying electricity to the grid on May 1. The first part of a photovoltaic power plant on the former Marville-Montmédy air base has been in operation since 1 April. The second part will be commissioned in September 2021.

Local authorities decided to implement the project after a coal mining operation flooded, leading to questions about how best to use the site.
