Several explosions sounded early Thursday morning in the centre of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv following an air alert prompted by missiles and drones launched by Russia. IMAGES
Drone footage shows Polish farmers blocking roads into the capital Warsaw with their tractors to protest against EU environmental measures and what they say is unfair competition from Ukrainian goods. Border blockades and the grain dispute have strained ties between the neighbours, even as Poland has shown staunch support since the Russian invasion. A senior UN official condemns Russia for its "appalling assaults" on Ukraine which saw some 158 missiles launched, killing at least 30 people according to Kyiv. The European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has announced that all of the bloc's foreign ministers were for the first time meeting beyond its borders, in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. "We are convening a historic meeting of EU Foreign Ministers here in Ukraine, candidate country and future member of the EU. We are here to express our solidarity and support to the Ukrainian people," Borrell said in a statement on social media. IMAGES
Images show the aftermath of a Russian attack on the Darnytskyi district of Ukraine's capital Kyiv. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that according to medics, seven people were injured in that district. Ukrainian military authorities said Russia launched cruise missile attacks on Kyiv overnight. The falling debris from shot-down missiles resulted in seven people injured and damage to buildings.
