Description

Following on from the six‑cylinder models, the Mercedes‑AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ and the Mercedes‑AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ now also receive a technical and visual upgrade. In addition to design modifications, these include the AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension, which is fitted as standard on the V8 models. With the facelift, customers have an extended choice of equipment details at their disposal. This allows them to adapt their desired model even more specifically to their personal requirements. A wider range of wheels, upholstery, trim and exterior colours offer more customisation options. As with the first performance hybrid from Mercedes‑AMG, the GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE , the attractive model range is rounded off by two exclusive editions. The new models can be ordered immediately at a base price starting at 158,162.90 euros. The market launch will take place in Europe from April 2022.

    Ahead of the 2018 New York International Auto Show, Mercedes-AMG presented a highly impressively lineup. Making their debuts in the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan flagship store were the performance versions of the C-Class from Mercedes-AMG. Further highlights were the U.S. premieres of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 (fuel consumption combined: 13.1 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 299 g/km) and the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 11.2-9.1 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 256-209 g/km), which celebrated their world premieres in Geneva earlier in the month. Speaking at the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Manhattan, Dietmar Exler, President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, and Tobias Moers, Chief Executive of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, provided a strategic overview of the vehicles and explained the conceptual and technical highlights of the individual models. The main spotlight was on the new C-Class performance models. Following quickly on from the C 43 4MATIC Sedan and Wagon (fuel consumption combined: 9.6-9.3 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 220-213 g/km)2, the Coupe and Cabriolet (fuel consumption combined: 9.8-9.5 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 223-217 g/km)2 have also received a comprehensive update. The shared visual indicators are the AMG radiator grille with its twin-fin design, the powerfully sculpted front skirt and the new rear skirt with twin round tailpipes. The interior benefits from the optional, fully digital cockpit featuring exclusive AMG instruments and the new generation of AMG steering wheels. The 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine now produces 287 kW (390 hp). Handling and agility have been further enhanced by the highly responsive AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the rear-biased AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

    The first performance hybrid from Mercedes-AMG is entering series production and draws on technologies from Formula 1. The concept includes a distinctive drive layout with electric motor and battery on the rear axle as well as a high-performance battery developed in-house. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE combines superior performance and impressive driving dynamics with maximum efficiency thanks to its special powertrain. The E PERFORMANCE model thus transfers the DNA of AMG Driving Performance into the electrified future. The combination of 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and electric motor generates a system output of 620 kW (843 hp) and a maximum system torque of more than 1,400 Nm. The electric drive's immediate response at the rear axle, rapid torque build-up and improved weight distribution make for a new, highly dynamic driving experience. As in Formula 1, the battery is specifically designed for fast power delivery and draw. The electric range of 12 kilometres allows a practical operating radius, for example in the city or in residential areas. Mercedes-AMG is breaking new ground in communication on electrification together with brand ambassador will.i.am: The world-famous musician and multiple Grammy Award winner is the protagonist of the marketing campaign "Everything but quiet".

    The interior is equipped with a number of modern high-tech features: innovative control panels such as the eight high-resolution display buttons in the centre console can be intuitively operated.
