The short overhangs of 925 millimeters at the front and 917 millimeters at the rear as well as large wheels measuring up to 20 inches further emphasize the robust and sporty appearance.Characteristics of the new Renault Austral are the underbody protection at the front and rear, striking protectors on the sides of the vehicle as well as powerfully shaped side skirts and a high waistline. Its proportions make it look spacious, robust and sporty, which is reinforced by the flat angle of the rear window. The expansive wheel arches give the vehicle additional stature. The Austral's front end is defined by a chromed horizontal bar running through the large, checkered grille and extending from headlight to headlight. The prominent design element visually widens the front of the vehicle and gives it an elegant touch. The new Renault logo in the middle also underlines the modern character of the vehicle.
