United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres denounces the "devastation" caused by Moscow's invasion of Ukraine during a Security Council meeting chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, saying that the Russian invasion is a violation of international law and is "causing massive suffering" to the Ukrainian people. Around 400 pro-Kremlin activists demonstrate in Moscow in front of the US embassy on the ninth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea. The youth movement "Molodaya gvardia" ("The Young Guard") is protesting against 20 countries considered "unfriendly" to Russia, including the United States, the United Kingdom and France. Russia's annexation of Crimea on 18 March 2014 brought a barrage of international sanctions, which have been severely tightened since the start of the Russian offensive in Ukraine. IMAGES
Images show the aftermath of a missile that hit near a kindergarten in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine. The missile carved a huge crater in front of the kindergarten, which had some 250 pupils and 70 staff before the war broke out. Debris from the strike, which sparked a small fire in the building and smashed windows, was strewn around the playground and lay near colourful murals on a school building. IMAGES
Images show police and soldiers searching through debris following a strike on a residential area of Eastern Ukraine's Kramatorsk on Tuesday. The head of the Donetsk administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, wrote on Telegram that 'enemy fire' had hit the city wounding a young boy. He called on locals to evacuate. IMAGES
