    These two adorable newborn baby bear cub brothers were found lying in a box next to a garbage can in Moscow on Friday. The brother bears were urgently fed with whatever was on hand, oatmeal for human babies, and given a quick medical check over before being transfered to a special center. The newborns were taken for rehabilitation to the International Fund for Animal Welfare Centre (IFAW) for orphan bears in the Tver region and maybe be released to the wild in late summer.

  • Elephant Calf Rescued from Bottom of 70-Foot Well

    This poor and clumsy young elephant fell down a 70-foot-deep well in southern India and would likely have died there if it weren't for the brave effort of rescue workers. The elephant calf alerted a nearby forest patrol to her plight by trumpeting anguished cries for help. The forest workers followed the sound and arrived to the well to find the animal shivering in fright. They called in a team of rescue workers to help lift the large animal to safety. A group of villagers and onlookers heard the commotion and decided to gather around the rescue workers and help out in the effort

  • Copenhagen zoo welcomes baby elephant birth

    The Zoo of Copenhagen has released footage of a baby elephant which was born last week in captivity as part of a European breeding program for Asian elephants. The mother is 16 year old Maha Kumari and the fathers name is Fahim. The name and gender of the baby elephant aren't known yet. Calves weight in beetween 70 and 90kg at birth after spending 22 months in their mothers wombs, the longest gestation in the animal kindom. Elephant births in zoos are relatively rare with a total number of 18 worldwide in 2023 IMAGES
