Several hundred environmental activists enter a chemical plant in Pierre-Benite, Lyon, to protest against pollution. The action was organised by Extinction Rebelloion and Youth for Climate and saw protesters cutting through boundary fences, smash security equipment and unfurl a large banner from the site's roof reading "poison". Images of Blendecques, a flooded town in northern France, and the Aa river as the red alert for flooding was lifted in the Pas-de-Calais region, where water continues to recede and pumping operations are due to begin after the second episode of exceptional flooding in two months that has severely affected residents.
