The UN nuclear watchdog is "making progress" inspecting several areas of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in Ukraine, after claims it had been mined, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said Friday. "I think we are making progress," he said in Tokyo, explaining officials had visited sites including cooling pools, but had not yet been given access to the roof, where Ukraine claims possible explosive devices have been placed. Russia has summarily executed 77 civilians being held in arbitrary detention during its war in Ukraine, says Matila Bogner, the head of the UN's Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. The UN atomic watchdog's chief Rafael Grossi's convoy makes its way to Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia power plant in a rare visit to Europe's largest nuclear facility, which is currently held by Moscow's forces. Grossi arrived at the plant, Ukrainian nuclear power operator Energoatom announced on social media, adding that it is "the second visit of the Head of the IAEA to the largest nuclear plant in Ukraine and Europe, since it was occupied by the Russians". A Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia, a Ukraine-controlled city in southern Ukraine, leaves the building of a car dealership in ruins. Moscow has carried out a series of mass strikes across Ukraine since Monday. Ukraine's emergency services said on Tuesday that the overall toll had risen to 19 dead and more than 100 people wounded.
