Cannes 2022 : Kirill Serebrenikov "We're fighting for Russian culture"

Description

He’s probably the most anticipated filmaker at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. In previous years he was barred by Russia to accompany his work presented here. But he’s now in exile in Berlin and his film Tchaïkovski's Wife is competiting for the big prize. Eve Jackson speaks to dissident filmmaker Kirill Serebrenikov about what it means to be at the festival in person, why his film is not about Tchaïkovski's homosexuality and why it's important to defend Russian Culture.
