The Texas town of Uvalde is paying tribute to Amerie Jo Garza, who had just turned 10 when she lost her life in the Robb Elementary School shooting. Relatives are gathering at the funeral home where her casket is located, across the street from the school where 19 children and two teachers were killed by a gunman armed with a semi-automatic rifle.

"This town is heartbroken, devastated," says Adolfo Hernandez, whose nephew was at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. "You just want to pinch yourself and wake up from that horrible nightmare," he tells AFP.The tight-knit Latino community in the town is wracked with grief after a teen in body armor marched into an elementary school and killed 19 small children and two teachers, in the latest spasm of deadly gun violence in America.
