German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann qualifies Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy supplies as "war crimes," after a meeting between G7 justice ministers concerning war crimes in Ukraine. G7 foreign ministers have pledged to "everything possible" to bolster Ukraine's air defences in the face of Russia's invasion following a meeting on the Italian island of Capri, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani says. German Finance Minister Christian Lindner urges the European Union to "avoid a subsidy race we cannot avoid," warning that the bloc cannot simply follow United States economic policy moves. Germany announces 1.3 billion euros more in military gear for Ukraine in its fight against Russia, including four further IRIS T-SLM air defence systems as well as artillery ammunition.
