The United States says that Russia's drone strikes on Ukraine's Danube infrastructure show that President Vladimir Putin does not care about food supply for the developing world. "It is unacceptable. French civil security rescue teams arrive at a NATO military base in the town of Incirlik in the southern Turkish province of Adana. The workers are here to assist the Turkish authorities in the search for survivors following a deadly earthquake that left more than 5,000 people dead in Turkey and Syria. IMAGES
Josep Borrell, the EU foreign policy chief, holds a speech in Bruges to inaugurate the European Diplomatic Academy. "Europe is a garden," he says, praising the "combination of political freedom, economic prosperity and social cohesion".
