NASA scientists that worked on the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover mission show new stills and videos from the rover's landing on the surface of the Red Planet, which they say are useful to "inspect not only the vehicle but the surface around."

NASA said Thursday that the Perseverance rover has touched down on the surface of Mars after successfully overcoming a risky landing phase known as the "seven minutes of terror."
