Russian police detain more than 1,500 people at anti-war protests across dozens of cities after President Vladimir Putin sent troops to invade Ukraine, an independent monitor said Thursday. Russian missiles struck a large city in central Ukraine on Thursday, killing more than 20 and wounding another 90, in an attack President Zelenskyy called “an open act of terrorism” against civilians.
