Powerful V8 engines, thrilling driving dynamics and distinctive, motorsport-inspired equipment have turned the top-of-the-range models of the C-Class from Mercedes-AMG into best-sellers. The C 63 perfectly embodies the core of the performance and sports car brand and now offers, in the guise of the Saloon, Estate, Coupé and Cabriolet (fuel consumption, combined: 10.4-9.9 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 236-227 g/km)1, even better dynamics and a more modern interior with extended individualisation options. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission with wet start-off clutch makes for an even more agile gearshift response. The 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine is available in two output variants rated at 350 kW (476 hp) or 375 kW (510 hp) for all four body styles and delivers a performance on a par with that of a sports car – the top speed of C 63 S Saloon and Coupé is 290 km/h. Greater driving pleasure is guaranteed also by the redefined drive programs, which allow further differentiation of the road performance of the eight-cylinder engine. Visually, the looks of the new C 63 are even more emotionally appealing: the AMG-specific radiator trim underscores the brand identity while emphasising the muscular appearance. The interior benefits from an optional fully digital cockpit with unmistakable AMG displays and the new generation of AMG steering wheels.
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE is a real game changer: the hybrid powertrain is designed for maximum performance. It combines the AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine with an Electric Drive Unit (EDU) on the rear axle for a completely new driving experience. In addition to the clearly noticeable immediate thrust, the independent layout also ensures a balanced weight distribution – which benefits driving dynamics and handling in equal measure. Depending on the driving mode, the electric motor boosts power and torque according to the situation, for a particularly comfortable or performance-oriented driving experience. All-electric driving is also possible. The electric powertrain and the high-performance battery with 400 volts are AMG exclusive, in-house developments. Just like in Formula 1, the battery is specifically designed for fast power output and draw with innovative direct cooling of the cells. The electric range of 13 kilometres allows a practical operating radius, for example in the city or in residential areas. The combined system output is 500 kW (680 hp), the combined maximum system torque 1,020 Nm. These are new peak values for the C-Class.

Today, the new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE with AMG hybrid technology once again sets the benchmark in the segment. The E PERFORMANCE model combines the AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with the AMG-specific hybrid powertrain and a new expansion stage of the AMG high-performance battery (HPB). The new HPB 150 is based on the high-performance and directly cooled battery cells of the well-known HPB 80. The energy content increases from 6.1 in the HPB 80 to 13.1 kWh in the HPB 150. This increases the all-electric range to 33 kilometres.The focus of the powertrain, however, is less on electric range and more on best-in-class performance. With 590 kW (802 hp) of system output and 1430 Nm of system torque, the saloon sets new standards in the segment.
