The European Parliament recognises Russia as a "state sponsor of terrorism" over its war on Ukraine and urged the 27-nation EU to look to follow suit. Kyiv has been calling on the international community to declare Russia a "terrorist state" over its invasion of the country, and the Strasbourg parliament's decision will likely anger Moscow. Iranian personnel have been on the ground in Russian-occupied Crimea helping Moscow's forces conduct attacks on Ukraine with Iran-made drones, the US State Department says. "We assess that Iranian military personnel were on the ground in Crimea and assisted Russia in these operations," State Department spokesperson Ned Price tells reporters at a briefing. SOUNDBITE

Members of the Danish parliament, the Folketing, listen to a video address by Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky told MPs the Russian siege of the port city of Mariupol constituted a "crime against humanity", and he accused Russian forces of blowing up shelters despite knowing that civilians were hiding in them.
