Local teams cleaning up the mud and debris after the deadly landslide that swept through the Italian island of Ischia. Italy's government declared a state of emergency after the disaster killed at least one person and left a dozen missing. IMAGES
A seven month old baby boy was pulled alive from the rubble, Tuesday, after his family's home was destroyed in the earthquake that struck Ischia. The boy's two brothers were also found safe under a nearby bed. Two people were killed and as many as 39 injured in the quake, which measured 4.3 on the Richter scale. A church and a hospital were damaged in the quake as well.
Images of the flooding and mudslides in the northwestern Rubavu District of Rwanda, as the state-run broadcaster says that at least 127 people died following torrential rains. Most of the deaths occurred in Western Province which borders Lake Kivu, it says, adding that homes and infrastructure had been swept away and roads closed. IMAGES
Aerial images of rescuers and local residents searching for nearly 50 people reported missing after a landslide triggered by months of heavy rainfall killed at least seven in Ecuador's south. The government's communications secretariat revised the initial confirmed death toll down from 16 in the village of Alausi in Chimborazo province, some 300 kilometers (180 miles) south of the capital. Malaysia's fire and rescue department vehicles arrive and exit the campsite at a Malaysian farm that was hit by a deadly landslide on Friday. At least 16 people were killed in the incident near the town of Batang Kali, just outside the capital Kuala Lumpur. IMAGES
