Trump Organization lawyers denounce 'political' charges

Description

Lawyers for the Trump Organization say charges against the company and its finance chief for fraud and tax crimes are "political", after they pleaded not guilty in a New York court. "If the name of the company was something else, I don't think these charges would have been brought," says one outside the Manhattan courtroom.

  • Donald Trump Jr. Passed On Running For Wyoming Senate Seat

Donald Trump Jr. had considered running for an open Senate seat in Wyoming last year--but decided against it. Instead, Business Insider reports the eldest son of President Donald Trump and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle are looking at real estate in Florida. The eldest son of President Donald Trump has sparred with Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) over his father's foreign policy agenda in the past. But while Wyoming strongly leans Republican, he lacked roots in the Western state, which is also the least populated state in the US. White House advisor Ivanka Trump is thought of as a potential Republican challenger to GOP Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida in 2022. Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner are also house-hunting in Florida, where her father and stepmother plan to relocate shortly.

"Ivanka definitely has political ambitions, no question about it," one source told CNN. "She wants to run for something, but that still needs to be figured out."

  • Still Donating To Trump's MAGA Fund? FYI, Here's Where The Money Is Really Going

President Donald Trump's campaign is still seeking donations from voters, even though Trump himself has all but admitted he lost to Joe Biden. But donors should know that 75% of every contribution is now being routed to Trump's newly-established leadership PAC, Save America, up to $5000. Anything over $5000 goes to Trump's Recount Account. Also, 25% of all donations go to the Republican National Committee. These funds could be used to finance Trump's life--or his legal bills--or his family's legal bills-- after he leaves office. It could even go toward a possible 2024 presidential bid. And according to Business Insider, all of these would be legal. Despite the Trump administration's decision to begin the transfer of power, Trump's personal plans for life after January 20, 2021, remain unclear.

President-elect Joe Biden plans to start transforming America's stance on the global stage with a series of day-one executive actions. Sources say Biden's first focus is likely to be the worsening coronavirus pandemic. He is set to name a 12-person coronavirus task force on Monday. Biden intends to rejoin the Paris climate accord, a landmark international deal to combat climate change that Trump exited in 2017. The president-elect has also said he would rejoin the World Health Organization, which President Donald Trump moved to withdraw from this year.
