New Abarth F595@Imola Circuit Design Preview

Description

Direct from the racetracks of Europe comes the roar of the new Abarth F595, the new special series – fitted with an F.4 engine – dedicated to the youngest fans of the Scorpion brand. “Champing at the bit” under the bonnet are the 165 horsepower of the high-performance 1.4-liter Euro 6D-Final-compliant T-jet engine, the basis for the engine in the Tatuus single-seaters used in the Italian and German “F.4 Championships Powered by Abarth Certified by FIA”. The “F” in the name is intended as a tribute to Formula 4, for which Abarth is the exclusive engine supplier and acts as the Title Sponsor. A successful format created as a training ground for young drivers, talents from karting and the professionals of the future, inspired by the legendary “Formula Italia”, established in 1971 with the same philosophy: to provide young drivers with low-cost access to the world of open-wheeled single-seater cars.

  • New Abarth 695 Esseesse Design Preview

In its creation, the team of Abarth engineers and designers drew inspiration from the 1964 model, the “Cinquino” tuned up as a 695 Esseesse with its displacement raised to 690 cc and 38 hp so it could achieve 140 km/h, designed for everyday use and as a sporty city car, but aimed at those who were seeking the best performance on everyday roads, and produced in only 1,000 units. In addition, the “mean little Scorpion” stood out for its distinctive badges with the monogram "SS" in capital letters on the bonnet and "esseesse", all in lower case on the dashboard. And it was immediately a success for fans of Italian sportiness. In the design of the new Abarth 695 Esseesse, the goal was to improve performance further in terms of acceleration and handling. The research therefore drove at a reduction in weight, a different balance and attention to the aerodynamics. As well as marking out the new 695 Esseesse from an aesthetic point of view, the new doubly hunched aluminum bonnet reduces the weight by 25% compared to a normal bonnet, and combined with the adoption of the Akrapovič exhaust and other targeted interventions, has reduced the car’s overall weight by 10 kg compared to an Abarth 595 Competizione. This distinctive feature is joined in the rear by the “Spoiler ad Assetto Variabile”. As well as marking out its style, all these elements have improved performance, for example: on the quarter-mile (400 m), the 695 Esseesse manages to reach the finish line 1/10th of a second faster than the Competizione version.

  • Abarth 695 70º Aniversario Design Preview

Intended for collectors as well as fans of uncompromising performance and sportiness, the Abarth 695 70° Anniversario impresses with its new rear spoiler that makes direct reference to the world of motorsports and the legendary racing history of the brand with the Scorpion badge. The spoiler is manually adjustable, just like in races where it is not uncommon to see the mechanics in the pits adjust the angle of the spoiler to allow the driver to set the behaviour of the car according to the track. On the Abarth 695 70° Anniversario, the "Spoiler ad Assetto Variabile" can be adjusted to 12 positions with an inclination from 0° to 60°. In the maximum inclination position (60°), the spoiler increases the aerodynamic load by up to 42 kilograms at a speed of 200 km/h. This ensures excellent vehicle dynamics and more stable behaviour at high speeds, especially on fast mixed grip courses.
