  • Spain rescues migrants on canoe 500 km off El Hierro island

    Arguineguín, Aug 28 (EFE).- A total of 27 migrants traveling in a canoe about 500 kilometers southwest of the Spanish island of El Hierro were rescued and transferred to the Arguineguín dock Saturday by authorities.Four bodies were also found on board while one of the migrants arrived with cardiorespiratory arrest and died shortly afterwards despite the efforts of the Red Cross and the Canary Islands Health Service personnel.
